The creative work of Olena Kulchytska is carefully introduced in several spacious rooms of the museum, which used to be both her home and workshop.
According to experts, the artist was able to feel the folk art in a special way. In 1909 he already gained fame and recognition after her first exhibition, which took place in Lviv. Olena Kulchytska had a particular interest in the folk art of Hutsuls, the inhabitants of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
In order to discover the cultural code of her nation she travelled all over Galicia on foot. While working on the design of children's books, she demonstrated one more talent. Kulchytska was one of the pioneers who began to work in this direction on the territory of Western Ukraine.
In museum, there are paintings, graphics, decorative and applied arts from the creative heritage of the artist and they make the visitor feel warm and cosy atmosphere of the old Lviv.
