Парк Івана Франка
Ivan Franko Park was founded in the late 18th century, and it remains the oldest park in Ukraine. It used to have several names before World War II, but the most famous one was Tadeusz Kosciuszko Park.
In 1799, the businessman Johann Hecht built a restaurant, a small swimming pool and gazebos in the park. It was very popular among aristocrats. Even today, it is possible to see the gazebo used for orchestra play and celebrations, as well as the premises of the former restaurant.
Perhaps the largest number of Terrainkurs (health paths) in city is located on the territory of the park. Terrainkur is a special geodetic mark indicating the place of energy concentration that is favourable for the human body.
