This is a branch of the Lviv Historical Museum. It is located in the building of the former Kurkove shooting fraternity that remind a small medieval castle. The fraternity enjoyed great prestige in Lviv during the Austrian and interwar periods.
Every year they used to choose the best shooter, the "Kurkovyi King" (that means "chicken king"), among its members. They also used to organize shooting demonstrations until one of them ended tragically.
The present exposition demonstrates well the stages of the struggle of Ukrainians for their own national country. There are many unique military awards and symbols from such military organizations as Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, Carpathian Sich and Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
