Johann Pinzel is a great master of late Baroque sculpture
It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Lviv. Despite the careful research, we know very little about his ethnic origin, place and time of birth, the reasons for moving to Galicia.
However, fate gave him an opportunity to work effectively on many projects and to leave us wonderful sculptures in Lviv, Buchach, Gorodenka, Monastyryska and elsewhere in the region.
The creative work of Pinzel remained unknown among the general public for a long time and became a sensation in the world of art only after the museum opening in 1996 and further extensive research.
In 2013, the exhibition featuring the work of the master successfully took place in the Louvre Museum.
