Stanislav Liudkevych Memorial Museum was opened in 1995 in a private residence of the composer in Lviv at 7 S. Liudkevycha St. The initiator of its creation was Zenoviia Stunder (1927-2016) - a student, a long-time assistant and, at the same time, a wife of the composer. "Siaso" (so his friends kindly called the composer) was a legend of the Ukrainian musical culture and a favourite of the Lviv bohemian public.
He had a bright mind as well as he had a way with words. There are still many weird and not always true stories about S. Liudkevych. One of them says that the composer was a brilliant Preferans player, and the only way to beat him was to invite him to a restaurant with live orchestra. At the right moment, musicians, who were bribed by players, began playing out of tune that was very annoying to the composer and, as a result, he began to lose.
