The house of Dnister insurance company belongs to the most valuable architectural monuments of Lviv.
It is a great example of a combination of the Secession style with the Hutsul national decorative elements. Among numerous decorations you can find sunflowers, periwinkles, irises, braided with leaves and herbs.
Furthermore, the facade of the building is crowned with stylized ornaments that are traditional for Hutsul carvings. The decision on such an original design was taken by a group of Ukrainian architects, among which Ivan Levinsky was particularly distinguished. The Ukrainian Dnister insurance company financed the construstion.
According to the plan of the building, in addition to the offices, there were located a gym and other premises for the activities of Ukrainian public organizations. The best masters worked on decorating the house, trying to convey the character and mood of the Eastern Carpathian inhabitants.
